Remson J.DEJOSEPH

Actor, Writer, Performer

Remson (Remy) DeJoseph is a graduate of Rhode Island College and Boston College, born and raised in Long Island, New York. He received a B.A. in 2018 from Rhode Island College in Theatre and English with Honors in Creative Writing while pursuing passions such as performance and playwriting. While at RIC, he earned an Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship nomination at the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival for his role as General Genghis Kahn Smitz in the Mainstage’s production of “Seussical”. He is the author of "Good Friday: An Apocalyptic Tragedy" which premiered in New York City January 8th, 2019. Remy then received his M.A. In English Literature from Boston College in 2022.

Remy is currently attending University of Delaware as a PhD student, studying Medieval & Early Modern Literature and Theatre.

Remy published many pieces, including: Writing Voice and Character for the Page and Stage and My Soul has Sung Deep Like the Rivers: How the Abolishment of Slavery Birthed Generations of Music in RIC's Digital Commons, In Moments  in Chronicle Stories, and Left Sock's Fabells N' Tells on Channillo.  Remy also runs a blog on literature, cinema, and theatre called The Corner of the Bookshelf
