English Capstone Project: The Tragedy of Beowulf

My capstone project which looks at the Nowell Codex, specifically Beowulf, and how Medieval literature can intersect with modern media. The project resulted in the first act of The Tragedy of Beowulf, a Elizabethan/Shakespearean structured play that incorporates both prose and verse to retell the story of Beowulf as well as a reflection of my project. I plan on completing the next 4 acts and finishing the play.

Honors Thesis: Writing Voice and Character for the Page and Stage

For my senior year of college, I worked on my Honors Thesis: a Full-Length One-Act play as well as a prose piece to accompany it to explore the differences in voice between prose and drama. During my research, I wrote an exercise that turned into a 10-minute play to explore more differences of voice between a Full-Length play and a short play.

The Full-Length entitled "Good Friday: An Apocalyptic Tragedy" went on to be performed at the Hudson Guild Theater in New York City, January 8th 2019

Prose

My portfolio of my prose work, containing one fiction and one non-fiction. Both pieces were final projects for my creative writing classes. I challenged myself by nailing down the voice and perspective for each piece to make them both more uniform.
